Position:

I work as a Client Success Representative ("CSR") handling software support requests for gWorks' SimpleCity Fund Accounting Modules.

Length of Employment with gWorks:

I have been in this position for five years. I started with Data Technologies in July of 2015. gWorks acquired Data Tech in February of 2019.

What brought you to gWorks?

I love software support. I worked for a regional retail company for 20 years before they went out of business and I love helping people learn different and better ways to do their job.

What is your favorite part of working at gWorks?

We have a great work environment. I enjoy my teammates. They might be the hardest working people I have encountered in my entire career. They are also very funny!

What do you enjoy most about your role as a CSR and why?

My favorite thing is helping our clients. Many of the clerks I help with are overworked and underpaid but they want to do a good job. It’s a great feeling when you get off the phone knowing that you have helped that person.

What has been your favorite project at gWorks and why?

My favorite part of my job is teaching clients best-practice methods to keep their books balanced. My new goal is to resolve cases without needing to do a screenshare and taking control of the screen to fix their issue. That way I am making the clerk do the tasks and verification that their issue is resolved instead of watching me. This helps them learn best practices and gives them the resources and the confidence to resolve issues on their own.

What made you want a career in GovTech?

I was looking for a software support position outside of retail. I knew nothing about fund accounting when I started, but learning was fun and interesting.

What’s your favorite client story?

I don’t really have a specific story. I work with a lot of new clerks. Fund accounting can be a bit intimidating and often we are dealing with clerks with limited accounting experience. It’s very rewarding when you work with them and you know something just clicked for them and they understand why.
